A day at Saint-Jean-de-Luz in France

We left, mommy and me, for a day at Saint-Jean-de-Luz, on the côte basque. The complicity between a mother and her daughter is a special, unique relationship made of them story. These moments we cherish, we like, we keep them in our heart for a blow of blue. However each relationship to its difficulties and its originality. This has not always easy between both of us – teenager can be so dark – but I wouldn’t change nothing the relationship I currently have with her.

A day at Saint-Jean-de-Luz in France

Now I live in Dublin, so it’s harder to get mother-daughter moments. Even if there is the phone or skype – luckily the technology exists you’ll tell me – but it’s not the same thing that a small face-to-face between cookies, tea and gossip. When I traveled to France, I spent a few days with my mother on Pau. Thus, we took full advantage of it by traveling a day in Saint-Jean-de-Luz on the côte Basque. We wanted to cross the beach of Saint-Jean-de-Luz and above all taste good seafood – or rather the ocean

In the restaurant – Bodéga la Plancha

After an hour and a half, we arrived in the old Saint-Jean-de-Luz. Lunch time being almost  past, we are directly directed to a restaurant found thank to Tripadvisor, named Bodega La Plancha. A beautiful place at the end of the street Tourasse just before the jetty. A very attentive team, very fresh products and a very lovely and cosy framework for this moment of complicity mother and daughter.

Our walk on Promenade Jacques Thibault

Then we left on the promenade Jacques Thibaud and along the beach walking quietly. Then, we were continued in the alleys, before to finish on the central place of old Saint-Jean-de-Luz.

Thank you my little mother for all our little moments, thank you for being physically and virtually present since our moving in Ireland. I can’t wait my next holidays in France to live these new moments at two, a mother-daughter complicity that not makes me more afraid.

Advices to travelers
